Every year in Plymouth, Wisconsin, you can find a team of Baker Cheese employees participating in the Road America Run/Walk supporting the American Cancer Society.
How did it all begin?
In 2013, the Baker Cheese Wellness Team came up with the idea to become a contributing sponsor of the local event and get employees involved as part of the internal employee wellness initiative. As a result, since 2014, Baker Cheese has been an active event sponsor. All employees have the opportunity to participate in the annual event to encourage active lifestyles and old-fashioned family fun.
“The annual Road America Run/Walk is a great opportunity for our family of employees at Baker Cheese to promote wellness and give back,” said Brian Baker, president of Baker Cheese. “We take pride in being involved in our local community and our employees love the opportunity to get out and have fun in support of a great cause.”
Road America Run/Walk 2016
The Road America Run/Walk takes place on Saturday, October 29th at the Road America Track, located at N7390 WI-67, Plymouth, WI 53073. The race is approximately four miles in length, with chip timing available for competitive runners. New in 2016, the event will also feature a kid’s fun run.
The annual event was created to support American Cancer Society programs in the local community and make a difference for people fighting cancer. Through team participation and individual fundraising efforts, the funds raised at the event are used to: help communities members take steps to reduce their risk of cancer and promote early detection; invest in research to find, prevent, treat and cure the disease; and provide information and services to help individuals fighting cancer.
